Looking for karaoke (.kar) files?
Many of the MIDI files in categories such as Musicals include lyrics. A karaoke (.kar) file is just a special type of MIDI file that also includes lyrics. Notation products highlight the lyrics and notes as they play for these files. For karaoke fun with your friends and family, you can view lyrics displayed with just the melody line, displayed in a large font size, by choosing the "Prepare Sing-Along Part" in Notation's Part menu.

To find more karaoke files on the Internet, use your favorite search engine such as Google or Yahoo. In the search box, type "karaoke", followed by the song title that you are looking for. You can usually right-click on the .kar file to save it to your computer, or just open it with Notation Musician or Composer to see the notes and lyrics as the music plays.
