 If the setup program or download abnormally terminates, what should I do?
Solution If the NotationMusician20TrialSetup.exe or full version NotationMusician20Setup.exe program (or corresponding Composer file) abnormally terminates as soon as you run it, the error message might be this:
"The contents of this file cannot be unpacked. The executable you are attempting to run has been corrupted. Please obtain another copy of the file, verify its integrity and try again."
There are a couple of reasons why the Notation setup program might abormally terminate, and ways you can solve the problem.

The most common cause for this problem is that the setup program was corrupted when it was downloaded. This happens for only a small percentage of file transmissions, but is more likely to happen if your Internet connection is unreliable.

The first thing you should try if the setup program abnormally terminates is to (1) delete the downloaded NotationMusician20TrialSetup.exe program (or corresponding Composer file) in your download directory, and (2) download and run the setup program again. If you are running Windows XP and the above procedure does not work, then you might also need to do the following. Use the Windows Explorer to view files in your C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch directory. Delete any files that begin with the name "Notation" and have a ".pf" (prefetch) file name extension. Then reboot your system and try running the Notation setup program again.
