Default Re: Dropped instrument

Hi,

Check the Volume level of the track in question. It could be that there's a Midi CC volume change in it that lowers the volume and that it's not being restored at the beginning of the piece when it's played back.

Likewise, the Expression controller.

You can do that by selecting the GraphOverNotes(TM) tool. When the toolbar for that comes up, the default is Volume. You should see a red bar about three quarters of the way up (just below the top line of the staff) that extends to the right. Check to see if it is lowered at any point in the piece and not restored. You can either use the Erase tool (4th one along) to remove the unneeded change or use one of the draw tools to create a new level after the lowered one.

If that's not the problem, check the Expression controller. Select the CTL with a red question mark over it and choose Midi CC 11 (Expression). Follow the same procedure. There may not be any CC 11 data in the track, in which case leave it alone.

Volume is Midi CC 7, by the way.

Hope that helps.

David
