Re: Thank you and new stuff.
Hello, Lavajunkie:
It's very hard to interpret another composer's musical ideas from a rough sketch, but the attached edited Composer file seems to make musical sense to me within the parameters...

Re: Notation and Halion Sonic
Hi, Vandy:
I don't know the Halion Sonic software specifically, but what you'll probably need to do is install a software midi port that will act as your "go-between" from Composer to the Halion...

Re: Piano's pedal & Notation Software Usage.
Hi, James:
Rather than the piano roll, try the GraphOverNotes (TM) feature.
Click on the GraphOverNotes (TM) tab in the main palette.
Each staff will now have a dotted line above and below...

Hi, Sherry, Arslan1:
If I can jump in and sound pedantic for a while:
It's important to recognize the difference between MIDI data and audio data.

Re: Seasonal salutations
Once again, the Yuletide rolls around.
Here, near Canada's capital, we are having a traditional white Christmas -- well, fog is white, isn't it? Totally socked in.
Here is a little prezzie. ...

Re: midi
Hi, Bongout:
Do you mean two different midi (.mid) files or input from two different midi keyboards?
The first is as simple as cutting and pasting.
The second requires, at least, an...

Re: recommendations for keyboards
Hi, nj:
Notation Software products are aimed at creating traditional notation and not so much at producing the musical sounds. You need a synthesizer/sampler of some kind as a sound source.
A...

Re: Adding a 2nd piece of music to the sheet.
Hi, John:
Composer isn't really intended to place multiple pieces in one file like that.
One work-around that comes to mind is to print off your first piece that ends one third of the page...

Re: Notation Composer and Mac users
Looks good! Odd to see the familiar icon on a Mac desktop!
That will open up a whole new market for you (and a very strong one, given the Mac's historic dominance in music software.)

Fine tuning 3rd Party Soundfont Players
Hi, all:
Sherry and I have had some discussion off-line about whether Soundfonts (.sf2 files) can be tuned to meet real-world conditions such as a piano that's a few cents short of 440 Hz.
We...

Re: Repeats & Bar Lines
Hi, James:
If you wanted to stick to a strict 5 measures per line, you could split at bar 36, instead of bar 34, leaving you with three measures in the last staff.
At the same time, it's...

Re: Lyrics for multiple verses fails in 3.0.1
Hi, Tim:
I confirm the problem with 4th verse lyric entry.
It's not on every note on the 4th verse, either. In fact, you can go along just fine for a bar or two before the error occurs.
I...

Re: Notation Composer v3.0.1
Hi, Walt:
Notation Composer is a very "benign" program, in that it doesn't make any deep hooks into the system or play around with graphics settings, sound settings, etc.
While no software is...
