Controlling playback tempo with a midi keyboard
I use Notation composer to accompany an informal quartet that lacks an accompanist. I am wondering if anyone has used a midi keyboard to change the playback tempo dynamically during the playing of a midi file? A knob or slider would seem to work. I am somewhat of a midi novice but have used my keyboards with organ synth software successfully. Any ideas?

Re: Controlling playback tempo with a midi keyboard
Hi,
You can control many different aspects of the playback for a song while playing it in Notation Musician and Notation Composer using the "Pitch to command" feature, including slowing down or speeding up the tempo. You can click here for details, or use Help/Users Guide and look up "Pitch-to-command". ttfn, Sherry

Re: Controlling playback tempo with a midi keyboard
Sherry,
Thanks again, I will try this. I never thought Notation would have this feature built in. Great find Doug Varney |
