Symphony 5 "Organ"
I."Prelude" (starts with bar 1)
II.Allegretto (starts with bar 41) III.Adagio (starts with bar 67) IV.Adagio 2 (starts with bar 98) V. "Postlude" (starts with bar 135) It was called by me an "organ" symphony just due to using organ in last movement, and also due to calling first and last movement "Prelude" and "Postlude" respectively, with especially "postlude" being very linked to this instrument as term. The most lyrical sections of the work are in "Prelude" and in Adagio. Adagio also have some fugal elements. Adagio 2 starts with solo timpani. First part of the "postlude" it is "concertanto" dialogue between organ and orchestra. Next part is merging together the organ and orchestra. Enjoy! |
