Hi Peter,

You have every reason to be proud of your transcription. Very well done. Most enjoyable. I remember the name from when I was in early high school, but was not particularly a fan of Fats Domino at the time.

Cheers,

Herbert

Thanks for the kind comments - good to know someone else enjoy's it too.
Since Fats' energy is infectious, I've always wondered why the track's never had more airplay.

Ralph - here's Fats rockin' to it on youtube:-

Interesting to compare the original to a transcription by a classical pianist,

btw anyone know why when the file is saved to midi the notation gets all messed up?

Hi, Peter:

Tried to post some comments on this yesterday but was having connection difficulties.

Very nice transcription. I was especially interested to see your inclusion of fingering marks, done in Free Text, which must have taken some painstaking work getting them placed just right.

My son was downstairs playing some barrel-house blues on the piano while I was looking at it, so I printed it out and he had some fun with it before heading off to work. He passes his congratulations to you.

Differences between your .not file and a .mid save (and re-load) could be in part due to your Transcription Options settings in the Setup menu. However, there will be some small changes when Composer re-transcribes a piece, due to judgement calls it makes with things like triplets and so on.

Keep 'em coming!

David

Hi Peter,

there is also a very fast version of this song on YouTube. Please see
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeWmMJ-J45c

I took the liberty and changed the speed from your 128 to 148 of that video.

What a great arrangement of a Rock 'n Roll song.

Congratulation and thanks for sharing.

Reinhold

One for the purists...
After getting into the swing of playing the piece have made a couple of changes to improve the flow in the right hand and it to roll more easily:- one note omitted in bar 9 (and in same phrase throughout) and altered the chord in bar 81.
Final pdf attached for those who're interested.
