Composer defines a measure as all the music that is played from one barline to the next, across all staves. Composer enables you edit measures as a whole in the following ways:

Insert measures in the middle or at the end of the song.

Delete measures.

Split a measure with a new barline into two smaller measures.

Join two measures by removing the barline that separates them.

Create an upbeat measure, which has less that the full count of beats for the following meter.

Specify the periodic numbering of measures, such as showing the measure number of every fifth measure.

Use multiple measure rests to collapse two or more measures that are rests only.
