The following are some VST resources that we have found to be especially good and are also free.

Plugins

Carla comes with a set of audio plugins already incorporated. VST plugins are widely available on the web. Many are for free.

An excellent overview and assessment of free VST plugins can be obtained from BPB, the Bedroom Producers Blog at https://bedroomproducersblog.com/free-vst-plugins/

In addition we have added here some links to free software which can be downloaded to test the new audio features.

Carla offers a convenient scan function to find the installed VST plugin by the tab ‘+ Add Plugin’/Refresh button. Installed plugins can be conveniently added to the project in Carla and all settings including the VST setting will be stored as part of the Carla project file respectively in the ‘Sound Design file’ (carxp-file).
