I'm trying to install the software and I'm getting a Windows "ERROR: no access...." message - what do I do?

This error message is caused by the Windows Defender Ramsonware protection when this feature is activated. If you own a version 4 license of Notation Composer or Notation Musician please make sure that your latest update is higher than version 4.0.3. For Player and previous versions anti-ransomware need to be turned off during installation. The exe files need to be manually added to the allowed apps to have access to Public folders.

To deactivate the anti-ransomware feature, please see this article on "How to enable Ransomware Protection" at https://www.ghacks.net/2019/08/15/how-to-enable-ransomware-protection-in-windows-defender/

The switch is a "toggle" style, and thus the anti-ransomware feature can be turned on or off simply by clicking.
