How do I get Notation to recognize my MIDI devices?

If your MIDI setup includes not only a soundcard and the internal Notation Software Synth, but one or more MIDI software sound synthesizers, or extra MIDI devices, then you may need to use MIDI Device Command in Notation's Setup menu.

The easiest place to start is
(1) make sure your devices are on,
(2) start Composer or Musician,
(3) click on Setup -> MIDI Devices Configuration, and then Config->Initialize.

This will force Composer or Musician to "find" all your MIDI devices.

If this method doesn't find all your devices, then please refer to the User's Guide (Help/User's Guide) for help with configuring your MIDI devices using the MIDI Device Configuration window. Open the chapter named "Configuring Your Sound Card and MIDI Devices".
